Como 1907 offers support to Casa della Giovane in honour of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

“We help women take steps towards autonomy, providing them with the tools to live independently and learn the household rules that encourage personal growth and self-reliance. Our mission is to support these women and mothers by offering guidance, assistance, and a dependable presence they can trust,” explains Silvia Cantaluppi, president of the Casa della Giovane in Ponte Chiasso, Como.

Casa della Giovane di Ponte Chiasso in Como is a shelter providing a safe haven for female victims of violence, often accompanied by their children. The facility offers protection, covers utility costs, and supports essential living expenses. While several projects are active and in development, Casa della Giovane continues to face significant challenges.

“These women are victims of violence, fleeing from danger, traumatised and emotionally scarred, seeking safety for themselves and their children,” Silvia explains. “They come not only from the local area but also from distant countries, finding not just material support but also opportunities for employment, education for their children, and a path to recovery as they rebuild their lives.”

In February, Como 1907 partnered with 3Sixty to design a special limited-edition clothing line. All proceeds from the collection were donated to support Casa della Giovane in honour of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on November 25. “Violence against women is an ever-growing and intolerable reality,” commented Daniele, owner of 3Sixty.

“The donation from Como 1907 has given us much-needed relief. Our focus is on improving the quality of life for our guests and preparing them for a future of independence. These women are survivors of violence, fleeing danger, deeply wounded emotionally, and seeking safety for themselves and their children. They come from the local area and distant countries, finding not only material support here but also opportunities for work, education for their children, and a path to recovery to rebuild their lives.”

For many women, Casa della Giovane is a true refuge. “For me, it’s like a family, a place where we all live together. If you need one, we can become your family,” says a woman who has found shelter there.

“This house has helped me a lot, more than I could have ever imagined. At this point in my life, it’s the right place for me. I’m a single mother, and here I’ve found people who support me, and I will carry their kindness in my heart forever.”
